OmniSalud and Colorado Connect: Health Insurance in Colorado

OmniSalud helps Colorado residents who don’t qualify for other health coverage programs because of immigration status compare and enroll in private health insurance through Colorado Connect.

Some eligible customers can receive financial assistance called SilverEnhanced Savings. Funding is limited, so meeting the eligibility requirements doesn’t guarantee a financial assistance spot.

Colorado Connect is separate from Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s marketplace for coverage eligible for federal premium tax credits.

2027 update: Enrollment deadlines and $15 monthly premiums

Updated October 27, 2026

For 2027, SilverEnhanced Savings coverage has a $15 monthly premium for each enrolled person receiving the assistance. Two enrolled people would pay $30 per month; four would pay $60.

There are different steps for people who already receive SilverEnhanced Savings and those applying through the lottery.

Already receiving SilverEnhanced Savings?

If you currently receive SilverEnhanced Savings and remain eligible, you have a reserved spot for 2027—but you must complete your enrollment to keep it.

Complete your 2027 SES plan enrollment between November 1 and November 30, 2026. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. on November 30.

Don’t assume having coverage in 2026 completes this requirement.

Your Colorado Connect account will show your current plan details and instructions for enrolling for 2027. After enrollment, review the payment instructions and pay your insurer by the applicable deadline.

If you miss the November 30 enrollment deadline, your reserved assistance spot will no longer be available. You may still shop for full-priced coverage.

Not currently receiving SilverEnhanced Savings?

Eligible applicants can enter the 2027 OmniSalud lottery from November 1 through November 30, 2026. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on November 30.

Remaining assistance spots will be allocated through a random selection process on December 1.

After submitting your application:

  • Save your lottery confirmation number.
  • Check that your contact information is correct.
  • Watch for results beginning December 1 through your preferred contact method and your Colorado Connect account.

Entering the lottery is not the same as enrolling in health insurance. If selected, you still need to choose a plan, complete enrollment, and pay the required premium.

If you’re selected in the lottery

Complete enrollment by December 31, 2026, for coverage beginning January 1, 2027. The October 26 enrollment update instructs selected customers to pay their first premium directly to their insurance company by January 1.

If you miss December 31, you can still enroll by January 15, 2027, for coverage beginning February 1, along with paying the first premium.

If you don’t enroll by January 15, you lose the opportunity to enroll in SilverEnhanced Savings coverage for 2027.

If you aren’t selected

You can still compare full-priced plans through Colorado Connect. You can also shop for full-priced coverage while waiting for lottery results.

For full-priced coverage beginning January 1, 2027, select a plan by December 15, 2026.

The December 31 deadline for selected lottery recipients is a special SES enrollment deadline. Don’t apply it to ordinary full-priced enrollment.

Who qualifies for SilverEnhanced Savings?

For 2027, applicants must live in Colorado, have household income below 150% of the federal poverty level, and not qualify for Health First Colorado, CHP+, or coverage through Connect for Health Colorado because of immigration status.

Eligibility and receiving a funded spot are separate steps. Returning eligible SES members have a reserved enrollment opportunity; other eligible applicants use the lottery for remaining spots.

A new household member doesn’t automatically receive assistance just because someone else in the household has a reserved spot.

Is OmniSalud the same as Medicaid?

No. OmniSalud provides a way to enroll in private health insurance. Health First Colorado is Colorado’s Medicaid program, and CHP+ is another separate coverage program.

Different household members can qualify for different programs. Check each person’s eligibility rather than assuming everyone needs the same coverage.

SilverEnhanced Savings is also different from federal premium tax credits and Colorado Premium Assistance available through Connect for Health Colorado.

What should you check before choosing a plan?

Compare the doctors, hospitals, prescription coverage, deductible, copays, and out-of-pocket maximum.

A $15 monthly premium doesn’t mean all medical care is free. You may still owe costs when you receive services.

Use the provider directory for the exact plan you’re considering. A familiar insurance company name doesn’t establish that your doctor participates.
