Rocky Mountain Health Plans is based in Grand Junction – Mesa County. If you’ve seen the network size results in other counties, you’ve noticed RMHP usually dominates all other carriers in those counties as well. That’s because RMHP is still a PPO, but they only sell their individual/family plans in Mesa County. So even though RMHP is the dominant network in those counties, residents of those other counties were limited to purchasing from the smaller HMO or EPO options. Based on the other counties, I was expecting RMHP to be very dominant in Mesa County, but I’m still surprised by these numbers.
