Julie Ferguson hosted the “Words Matter” edition of the Health Wonk Review this week, at Workers’ Comp Insider. Julie did an excellent job, as always, and there’s plenty of good stuff in this edition of the HWR. Some of my favorites are:
- Joe Paduda’s at-a-glance summary of the direction the GOP is likely headed in terms of an ACA replacement (keeping in mind that we don’t know for sure what they’re going to do, because despite the fact that they’re moving ahead with the repeal process, they haven’t yet shown the American people the legislation they’ll introduce to replace it… because they haven’t yet written it).
- HealthAffairs’ (Joseph Antos and James Capretta) excellent explanation of why “repeal and delay” is fraught with problems and would cause significant instability in the individual health insurance market.
- Health Care Renewal’s (Dr. Roy Poses) “follow the money” post about Rep. Tom Price, who is on deck to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services.
- Wendell Potter’s summary of exactly how ACA repeal will impact Americans — it won’t be pretty, and it will be felt by far more than just the people who buy their own health insurance or have Medicaid coverage.
There are plenty of other great entries, so be sure to check it out if you’re looking for some weekend reading. And many thanks to Julie for hosting!
